Cairns Bank COVID-19 Approach

Cairns Bank COVID-19 Approach

We want to keep you updated about our plan to ensure the wellbeing of our staff and customers and to ensure the continuity of banking services.  Cairns Bank are closely monitoring government advices and will respond accordingly to this evolving health situation.

Current action we are taking

We take our responsibility to play our part in assisting to control any spread of this virus and consequential impact seriously. The safety of our customers and our staff is our number one priority, so we are taking precautionary measures.

Our branch is open for business as usual, but we ask you to please contact us first if:

  • you have returned from overseas in the last 14 days; or
  • have been in contact someone who has been diagnosed with Coronavirus (COVID-19) or has returned from overseas within the last 14 days; or
  • you are displaying flu-like symptoms.

And we can then organise other arrangments for your banking requirements.

Hand sanitiser is available within the branch and we encourage you to use it on arrival and before you leave.  Money changes hands a lot, so it is important to be careful when handling it.

Please also try to keep to the ‘social-distancing’ guideline when within the branch, keep a distance of 1.5 metres from others who are in the branch.

Should you require assistance with your banking, please call us on (07) 4031 4460 or email through to customercairnsbank.comau.

We have put in place the most current advice from the government.  This includes:

  • Mindfulness and practice of good hygiene and social distancing.
  • Awareness of the symptoms of Covid-19
  • Staying away from work if unwell.

Access to your money

You will continue to have access to your money throughout the crisis.

We have arrangements in place to ensure that all of our electronic processing continues to occur as usual.

We have received reports that some organisations are now refusing to accept cash because of the potential for the virus to be spread through handling cash.  We therefore encourage you to have a current Visa debit card attached to your transaction account and also check that your internet access and SMS passwords are current.  If you don’t yet have internet banking, we are happy to set it up for you now.
